Standing at 6'6, Kain is of average height for a high elf with blonde hair that is streaked with silver. Besides his hair, he does not look older than twenty but to looks into his brown eyes is to stare into a bitter and distrusting soul.
One of the Valerothea High Elves, Kain had been responsible for the Magical training for their clan before he was betrayed. His wife and child -Elena and Mithril respectively - are missing, presumed dead. He has spent the last two hundred years wandering the world before spending the last thirty years in -place that chartered them.
Personality: Bitter, cynical and withdrawn, Kain is a shadow of his former self. His magical ability wasted as he walked the world. He'll be polite to your face but what he thinks is possibly very different. On the other hand he watches out for the youngsters, making sure they do not make the same mistakes as he did.
Motivations: Kain seems to have no motivation or drive for life. He mutters under his breath, cursing his luck while carrying his own weight and more if the others seem to be struggling. Although, if there was ever a chance to get back at the people that killed Elena or Mithril Kain would take it with surprising vengence.
Stimuli There are certain things that will always provoke us into action, and these stimuli can have a distinct effect on personalities and actions.
- Rage: Betrayal, betrayal of faith and trust is the worst thing anyone can do.
- Fear: Death before he can get his vengence, yet he embraces it when it seems close.

Discrete Casting (Ex) Observers must make a DC 20 Perception check to notice that Kain's shadow makes different gestures than he does when casting a mystery as an arcane spell.
Line of Shadow (Su) Once per day as a full-round action, Kain can cast a mystery to affect a target that he does not have line of sight or effect with. The target must still be within range of the mystery and must have been within line of sight and effect of Kain within a number of rounds equal to Kain's intelligence modifier. The target gains a bonus to any saving throw against the mystery, if any, equal to the number of rounds since Kain had the target in line of sight and effect.
Seer (Su) Kain is gifted with the Second Sight and can see auras, and occasionally prophetic images around people.
Shadow over Body (Ex) Kain has gained a +6 bonus to Perception and Stealth checks from the metashadow feats he has selected.
Shadowbond (Su) Whenever Kain has concealment due to darkness, shadows or low light, enemies suffer an additional 10% miss chance. Enemies who have concealment against Kain due to darkness, shadows or low light have their miss chance against Kain reduced by 10%.
Sustaining Shadow (Ex) Kain's bond with the plane of shadow allows him to mitigate biological necessities through its extraplanar energy. He does not need to eat or drink to maintain health.

Special Abilities
Attach (Ex) When Svelte hits with a bite attack, he automatically grapples his foe, inflicting automatic bite damage each round.
Deliver Touch Spells (Su) If Svelte is in contact with Kain when he casts a touch spell, Kain can designate Svelte as the "toucher". Svelte can then deliver the touch spell just as his master would. As usual, if Kain casts another spell before the touch is delivered, the touch spell dissipates.
Empathic Link (Su) Svelte has an empathic link to Kain to a distance of 1 mile. Kain can communicate empathically with Svelte but cannot share his senses. Because of the link's limited nature, only general emotions can be shared.
Hide in Plain Sight (Ex) As long as he is not in natural daylight, the area of a daylight spell or similar effect, Svelte can use Stealth to hide even while being observed.
Share Spells (Su) Kain can cast personal range spells on Svelte instead of himself, even if the spells would not normally be able to affect a magical beast.
Speak with Master (Ex) Svelte and Kain can communicate verbally as if they shared a common language. Other creatures do not understand the communication without magical help.

With a successful result, you see a faint aura around the subject that indicates one important, unknown or unconfirmed fact about the subject’s personality or his role in your life or the events that surround you. You might learn that he holds the key to solving a mystery, that he can be trusted with a secret, that he harbours an unusual fear of a local lord, that he is in love with a friend of yours, or that he is spiteful and vindictive.
If you succeed the check by 10 or more points, you also receive a prophetic image related to the person. Such images are usually hard to interpret and often highly metaphorical. Regardless, they always prove true, but often in surprising ways.
You can have only one viewing of a single person, unless they experience a truly life-changing event (DM’s discretion). Normally, any future viewings of the person will reveal the same images seen before. If you failed to notice anything about them before, you can make a new Spot check each time you encounter them.
